Four different activities between Saturday 27th May to Sunday 4th June for our May Half Term .
Sunflower sensory - Monday to Friday
Each table will have an artificial sunflower, Artificial sunflower heads, Childrens gardening tools, Watering Cans, Plant pots, Toy bugs, Soft toy birds when pressed has real bird song and a team member per table to assist and encourage involvement at the table.
Sunflower colouring - Monday to Friday
Sunflower colouring sheets for children to colour in, either in centre or at home.
Sunflower Bird Feeder – Monday to Friday
Make your own Sunflower seed bird feeder. Using recycled paper cups, children will decorate their pots with felt pens, they will be encouraged to draw and colour in sunflowers on their pots. They will then mix their special fat ball mix and add it to the pot to take home and hang in their garden.
National Trust Sunflower – Monday to Friday
‘Sam plants a sunflower’ a book published by the National Trust, Authors Kate Petty & Axel Scheffler (who also illustrator The Gruffalo). This book is a gentle story with simple facts to explain how plants grow to inspire children to get outside and follow tips to grow sunflowers. A gardener storyteller will read the National Trust book and share some of their own stories about nature and sunflowers and the ecosystem. The storyteller will give out a packet of seeds to every child that took part. 4 x 25 minute sessions.
