Since 24 March the centre has remained open for essential retail and committed to deep cleaning of malls, car parks and service areas.
From Monday 15 June non-essential retailers will be permitted to open, under new government guidelines. We are safely supporting these retailers with their reopening plans and implementing additional health and safety measures considering the further footfall this will generate.
Throughout this period, a comprehensive plan for visiting the centre has been created and updated as developments have been announced, to ensure visitors feel confident and safe during their time at Queesngate.
Enhanced daily cleaning schedules are in place, with a focus on touchpoints throughout the mall, such as handrails and door handles. On entry and exit, hand sanitisers have been installed with handwashing instructions.
Throughout the mall, two-metre indictors will be present on the floor and visitors will be asked to ‘stay-to-the-left’ and use a new one-way system. Information signs will be present throughout the centre giving advice, such as using escalators and customers lifts.
All Queensgate staff will wear gloves and facial coverings and as per government guidance, it is mandatory for those over 11 years old and who are able to wear a face mask or face covering in shops from Friday 24th July. This will apply in Queensgate Shopping Centre and its retailers. Face masks can be purchased from retailers including Boots, Damage Society and our PPE vending machine in the bus station.
