FESTIVAL READY

It is that time of year where I begin to get extremely excited…festival season! As a regular festival goer I was keen to share with you the essential items needed to make your festival experience as easy as possible. There are two main areas I am going to cover; camping essentials and fashion musts.

Festival Camping Essentials

The first item is of course, a tent. If you are looking for something easy to put up then a pop up tent is what you want. Trespass have a variety of pop up tents, all currently on offer at great prices. You also want to make sure you have a blow up bed and a good sleeping bag; camper mats are not very comfy so I highly recommend a blow up bed, especially if you need a good night’s sleep like me. Another fairly obvious essential is travelling rucksacks to fit all of those festival fashion must-haves in. Don’t try and fit everything into a shoulder bag, you will regret not being able to evenly distribute the weight on your shoulders when you have a long trek to the campsite.

The first few items are pretty obvious choices but the next three are not always the first items that come to mind. Learn from my mistakes and invest in a camper chair. I went to Glastonbury a few years ago and took this tiny little chair with me and completely regretted it, you spend a lot of time walking and standing up at festivals so you want something in the mornings and evenings that is comfy to sit on. On that note, think about purchasing a little stove and kettle – warm porridge and tea in the morning while sat on your camper chair will set you up perfectly for the day.

Festival Fashion Musts

I am a big lover of festival fashion as you can get away with pretty much anything including glitter, neon paint and dramatically oversized flower crowns as they are not considered strange or inappropriate at a festival (such a shame because I would love to walk around with glitter on my face every day)! There are, however, a few items that you want to make sure you have. With festivals you need to pack for two types of weather; sun and rain! For your sun items a straw hat and sun tan lotion will help protect you from the rays. The straw hat doubles up as a hair cover-up when it’s getting to the end of the festival and it’s screaming to be washed. For the inevitable rain, you want a good pair of wellies or boots and a rain mac. Primark offer so many different varieties of both, you can go for matching colours/styles so you look fashionable even when it is pouring it down.

When it comes to festivals, there are always items that are on point every year and don’t seem to change. These include denim shorts and fringe tops. I don’t know about you but I love the fact that the slightly longer denim shorts are back in fashion and these ones from Topshop are perfect. I popped into H&M a few days ago to look at the fringe items they have to offer and I was spoilt for choice. I have chosen a few of their basics as they are easy to pair with denim shorts, but you must make sure you take a look for yourself. I fell in love with this gorgeous fringe sleeved playsuit that would look perfect with some ankle boots and a straw hat.
