In my last post here, I spoke about the top trends for men’s wear this A/W. Now, I am going to focus on two trends that I am loving for women this season. If you read the Q Style magazine you can see some of my comments on the up and coming trends, but today I am focusing on just two; ‘geek chic’ and ‘romantic goth’.

Geek Chic

Geek chic is a style that comes back time and time again. It is all about finding your inner geek and creating a stylish look. Large glasses, high top buns and jumpers with shirts underneath are really simple ways to capture this style. If you want to add a bit more of a quirky vibe, add in a tie or bow tie in a clashing colour.

Geek Chic

1. Croyde Twist Cable Crew Neck Jumper- Superdry £44.99

2. Printed Calamity Shirt- Superdry £44.99

3. Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum- The Perfume Shop £49

4. Imitation Leather Short Skirt- H&M £19.99

5. Theo Eve Glasses- The Oculist £370

The patterned shirt collar underneath the grey jumper will make a plain knit really stand out, especially paired with the faux leather skirt. The buttons down the skirt also give this geek chic outfit a 70s vibe. The bright purple glasses give this look a fresh twist; The Oculist have so many different styles of frames so you’re sure to find a pair that suit you and that complement your geek chic look. Now, every lady knows that no outfit is complete without perfume and I think the new fragrance from Gucci is perfect for this kind of style.  It has a blend of exotic florals with deep woody notes that is just right for the colder months.

Romantic Goth

Romantic goth is all about layers of black in different textures; lace, velvet, ribbed, patent and whatever else takes your fancy. It is a style that suits any situation; casual, work or evening, depending on how you dress it up. If you’re new to wearing black as a statement, you could go for subtle gothic hints, or if you’re feeling confident, you can go for a really bold look, but it’s all down to your personal style.

Long Sleeve Lace Shirt- Next £40

Black Leather Chelsea Boots- Next £55

Ribbed Roll Neck Sweater- Next £18-£20

Armani Code Femme Satin- Boots £39

Black Leather Look Leggings- Next £28

So, with this outfit, we are really embracing the layers with three different textures that transform this into much more than just a black ensemble! Wear the roll neck under the lace shirt, either tuck them both in or have them hanging over the leather look leggings, and then finish off the look with Chelsea boots. Sweeten the look with the seductive Armani Code Femme Satin, which has a delicious orange blossom scent with notes of ginger.

There are so many new items popping up across all the Queensgate stores so make sure you check out what they have to offer for A/W 2015. Don’t forget, the centre is open #L8 on Thursdays and Fridays with free parking after 5:30pm.
