Local Journalism Student Shannon Treadwell, popped along to our Eco event last month. Find out what she thought below. “On the 31st of May, Queensgate was visited by the giant green leaf, buzzing with mini adventurers, all ready to learn new skills and embrace their inner eco explorer – and what a great turnout they received!   Leading some of the blossoming activities was The Green Genie with her sidekick William Wormsworth, there to help the crawling-kids learn fun facts about insects and how to protect their environment, with Walter Droplet, to gush about water conservation and Lionel Recycle, grabbers at the ready to teach the importance of recycling, with up-cycled crisp packet bow tie on show. Children all sat together in a circle, making friends, immersed within the didactic games, minds-ticking over the events and green fingers ready to get to work. Celebrity DJ Lauren Pope wowed hundreds of people as she played a two hour set in the shopping centre for our exclusive Martinis, Music and Muses night on Thursday 27th April. Hundreds of people flocked to the centre to enjoy complimentary Martini cocktails while watching the model and TOWIE star spin the decks and create a club vibe in the city centre. As people danced on the mall, celebrity stylist and blogger, Megan Gilbride from the blog Wonderful You was on hand giving fashion tips and advice on what’s hot (and what’s not!) all while model waiters kept everyone fed and watered by handing out nibbles. Stores throughout Queensgate also had their own parties, including The Oculist and Maysons in Westgate Arcade, while discounts were available for one night only across many other stores. One of our #QBloggers attended the event and you can find out exactly what she thought of the night here!

Well, last week I was invited to meet with Sam at John Lewis in Queensgate Shopping Centre so that she could show me just a smidge of the lovely products they have in stock for Christmas.  Soooo, in no particular order . . . #BusterTheBoxer This year’s John Lewis Christmas Advert is #BusterTheBoxer and I have to admit, it’s one of my favourites.  As with other years John Lewis have also released a range of products to accompany the advert with 10% of proceeds of sale of the soft toys goes to The Wildlife Trust to help protect and restore nation’s wildlife and natural […]
